How To Avoid These Top 5 Mistakes On LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is one of the most effective social media networks which helps in bringing quality traffic for your products and services. It provides credibility and accuracy for your business. LinkedIn helps not only in driving quality traffic but also helps in growing your business to the next level.
No matter what your end goal is, I am confident that you will find these 5 common mistakes helpful. Let's get started.
Mistake 1) Professional Image : LinkedIn is a more professional version of the social media networks. You don’t want to put an image of you with your children, or a picture of your cat or dog. Leave that for Facebook or your other social media profiles. Use LinkedIn to get professional connections by presenting a professional image to the world. The image you select will say a lot about you to potential business partners and hiring managers. If you’re using an unprofessional photo, that photo might not portray the message you really want to convey on LinkedIn which is, “I”m a person you ought to be doing business with.”
Mistake 2) Personal Profile Summary Area : To use the summary area properly, use good grammar, punctuation and symbols to separate the information you provide. Reading on a computer screen is difficult and requires a lot of white space and separation. The summary is a great area to explain either what you do, or what you want to do.
Mistake 3) Using The Headline Section: This is a very important part of your profile. In your headline, you should mention what you do or what you are looking for. The headline section, is also a great area to talk about your USP (Unique Selling Proposition ) or tag line. Use the pipe symbol “|” to separate words within the headline. LinkedIn gives you 120 characters to work with. I would also recommend that you add a few keywords in your Headline. Keywords will help potential customers, recruiters, business clients or your coworkers to find your profile.
